Executive Chef Lyle Kaku took over culinary operations from Sahara earlier this year, and diners will now be able to experience his new direction for the resort when Zeffer Café debuts in late July.

Scheduled to be open daily from 7 am to 10 pm and described as an “elevated casual dining experience,†the menu will feature comfort food classics for breakfast and lunch, as well as chicken and waffles; Frosted Flakes French toast encrusted with Frosted Flakes, banana and Nutella; plus a Dungeness crab omelet.

Starters on offer include a prosciutto toast, a hot Nashville-inspired chicken sandwich and Zeffer’s burger made with Angus beef and topped with lettuce, tomatoes and jalapeño-bacon jam on a brioche bun.

From 5 p.m. to closing, a full dinner menu will be accompanied by a collection of familiar Chinese dishes, including Kung Pao chicken, Mongolian beef, honey nut shrimp, and wonton noodle soup.

Across the resort, ongoing construction projects include renovation upgrades to the main entrance and porte-cochere, as well as the creation of Shawn McClain’s Ballo Italian Soul, Chickie’s & Pete’s imported from Philadelphia and the arrival in the fall of Chef Guoming “Sam” Xin’s Noodle Den.
