You’ll go like bananas on that new king cake

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — At the Pink Palace of a restaurant in the French Quarter, general manager Christian Pendleton arrives as a headliner from Las Vegas.

He’s on fire as the host here to introduce you to the show’s star, Bananas Foster.

It’s the deep dessert that was invented in New Orleans, WGNO Good Morning New Orleans features reporter Bill Wood said, right here at Brennan’s restaurant.

It was in the 1950s, New Orleans was one of the main banana ports in the world.

And then, says Bill Wood, “there was this guy named Foster hanging out at Brennan’s.

And now Bananas Foster is really taking the cake.

The cake of kings.
