Pentland was diagnosed with incurable lymphoma in April 2020, after experiencing bodily pain while mowing the grass at her home. Doctors later confirmed that malignant tumors had spread throughout her body and that it was almost incurable.
Soon after, she decided to document her life as a cancer patient in order to raise awareness. “I never thought it would happen to me in a million years, but it can happen to anyone,” she once said. She addressed issues such as mental health, struggles and symptoms of cancer in a patient. While undergoing regular chemotherapy sessions, Pentland also received supportive care at the St. Oswald Hospice. She once revealed how she and her husband Anthony were dating at the hospice even when she was ill.
Pentland has been married to her husband for many years, but believes the cancer diagnosis has brought her family closer than ever. “I was crying all night long, screaming in pain and my husband had to help me, then get up himself to go to work in the morning,” she once shared of the early days of her battle with it.
