Pentland was diagnosed with incurable lymphoma in April 2020, after experiencing bodily pain while mowing the grass at her home. Doctors later confirmed that malignant tumors had spread throughout her body and that it was almost incurable.

Soon after, she decided to document her life as a cancer patient in order to raise awareness. “I never thought it would happen to me in a million years, but it can happen to anyone,†she once said. While undergoing regular chemotherapy sessions, Pentland also received supportive care at the St. Oswald Hospice.
