My first thought was, “Oh for goodness sake”.
My next thought was how terrible it was the time I tried to eat tofu.
My third was: ‘Thank goodness Booker didn’t become president.’
Here is what I react to. Former Newark Mayor and current United States Senator Cory Booker is a well-known vegan. The first to be a serious candidate for the Oval Office.
His image is used on posters pasted at bus stops around Newark encouraging people to enjoy a ThanksVegan instead of Thanksgiving. Artist and activist Nikkolas Smith was inspired by an old work by Norman Rockwell of people gathered around a dinner table. He used the image of Senator Booker and other notable vegans seated around the table enjoying a vegan Thanksgiving. The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is, of course, behind this.
“When people realize that turkeys love their families, feel pain and fear, and enjoy their lives, they can’t wait to put a Tofurky on the table,†Tracy Reiman, executive vice president of PETA. tell nj.com. “PETA offers recipes, buying tips and more so everyone can enjoy an all-American ThanksVegan meal that leaves sweet birds in peace.â€
