When Brad A. Johnson wrote about Henry’s at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach in 2019 after it opened, he said it was the most ambitious restaurant in town in years.
Today the address is the same, but with a new chef, the restaurant is called Henry’s Coastal Cuisine, but with a menu that puts interesting twists on some classic dishes.

James Beard semi-finalist in OC
Carlos Salgado, chef/owner of Taco María, was named a 2019 finalist in the Best Chef West category by the James Beard Foundation, an honor he received in previous years, beginning in 2016. Now the foundation has announced that ‘he is a semi-finalist in Best Chef California category, among other Southern California chefs.

The scoop on Handel
Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream & Yogurt has expanded into OC with locations already open in Newport Beach, Lake Forest, Laguna Niguel and Rancho Santa Margarita. The company has added a fifth scoop store, coming to Irvine at The Market Place.
