Popeyes has signed an agreement with a group of French restaurants and plans to open hundreds of fried chicken restaurants across the country in the coming years.

The company announced an agreement with napaqaro, one of the main French catering groups. This follows Popeyes’ recent entry into Spain and the UK. When Popeyes opened a store in east London in late November, it drew international attention, with reports of lines lasting two or three hours.

David Shear, president of RBI International, the parent company of Popeyes, said France is one of the world’s largest fast food markets.

With France, the agreement with napaqaro also allows Popeyes to open restaurants in Monaco.

Jocelyn Olive, president and CEO of napaqaro, said the plan is to supply restaurants entirely with fresh French chicken and local natural ingredients.
