York Restaurant Week runs from Monday October 11 through Sunday October 17 and is organized by the York Business Improvement District (York BID) to encourage people to eat out during a quieter time of year for hospitality businesses.

As part of this popular event, restaurants, cafes, pubs, bars, hotels and street vendors in York city center will once again offer a variety of menus for £ 5, £ 10, £ 15 or £ 20.

Participants include Supersonic Café, Orchid Vegan Restaurant, Charlies Pizzeria, Judges Lodgings and Ambiente Tapas.

Specials include traditional fish and chips, burgers, Italian charcuterie platters, coffee and cakes, three-course menus of Anglo-French dishes, and authentic Vietnamese cuisine.

BID Commercial Director Chris Bush said: “We are truly delighted that despite the current pressure on hospitality due to staffing issues, we are still able to continue Restaurant Week, and the enthusiastic response that we have received from previous participants proves the benefit they derive from their participation.

“We are also grateful to York City Council for providing additional restrictions grant funding to support this event. ”
