The passage to level 3 feels like a baby step this time. The restrictions are still heavy, the bubbles are still small and the daycare centers are still closed. There’s one thing level 3 will give us that got me so excited it’s kinda scary. Take out is back, baby!

Like everyone else, I can’t wait to kiss a fatty fast food as quick as possible, but once that itch is scratched, I’m going to want something special. As was the case the last time we were in this position, some of Auckland’s most award-winning restaurants have embraced their new standard and packed their gourmet delights for us to take home.

By no means is this a comprehensive list of all the take out food that will be available in Auckland, but rather a list of high end restaurants that serve gourmet meals. We all deserve something a little whimsical after the past six weeks. Is not it ?

Guilty

Auckland’s innovative restaurant will offer meal kits to recreate the experience in your own kitchen. Their Cuplrit @ Home offer includes a selection of starters, main courses, sides and desserts. The menu is pre-established, apart from the main course, where you have the choice between a lamb shoulder simmered with black garlic glaze, oregano and lamb jus, fennel shavings, raddichio and feta or a simmered pork cheek served with pork and apple juice, pear butter frosting with spices, raddichio and minced pear and crackle of puffed pork.

The meal is for two people and comes with instructions on how to heat, assemble, and dress your meal so you feel like you’re really dining out. Culprit now offers pre-orders of its meal kits on its website. Meals cost $ 125 and serve two. Enter quickly because the upcoming Fridays and Saturdays are already full.

The last time Auckland went from level 4 to level 3, Cassia hit the ground running and this time will be no exception. The only difference is that Sid Sahrawat and his team will only offer pickup this time around, no delivery service.

Their meal kits are designed to serve two people, with the order cut off at noon the day before pickup. There are three kits available, a vegetarian, chicken and lamb kit. The cost ranges from $ 90 to $ 95. Your meal includes snacks, starters, main courses, sides and a tiramisu for dessert. If Goan lamb chops or tandoori chicken seem like the best idea ever, then this is for you. All you have to do is heat up and eat.

Pair wagyu prime rib with a stroll of their famous fried fries while the kids share one of their gourmet pizzas or their own cheeseburger. Then choose between cheesecake and date pudding for dessert.
