As seen on TikTok: Make Ahead French Toast Casserole

[ad_1]

There is nothing like having breakfast already cooked and ready to go to the oven on a cold winter morning. This French toast casserole can be made the night before and baked in the morning. I made a gluten free and dairy free milk version, but any bread can be used and any type of milk.

Check out RJ Food & Drink’s TikTok account for a step-by-step video on how to make this casserole.

(Inspired by Pinterest recipes with personal dietary adjustments.)

Ingredients:

French toast:

8 pieces of cut bread (I used Udi’s gluten-free white bread)

8 eggs, beaten

2 ½ cups of milk (I used unsweetened coconut milk)

3 tablespoons of brown sugar (I used coconut sugar)

1 ½ teaspoons of cinnamon

Accompaniement:

4 tablespoons of cold chopped butter

½ cup of sugar (I used coconut sugar)

½ tablespoon of cinnamon

¼ cup of flour

Icing:

1 cup of powdered sugar

2 tablespoons of milk (I used coconut milk)

Not:

1.Roughly cut 8 pieces of bread and lay them out in a greased casserole dish.

2.Mix the eggs, milk, brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.

3.Pour the mixture over the bread.

4. Refrigerate overnight

5.In the morning, prepare the filling by mixing the cold butter, sugar, cinnamon and flour until it crumbles in a bowl.

6.Sprinkle over bread mixture.

7. Bake at 350 for an hour or until a toothpick comes out clean.

8.Mix powdered sugar and milk to make the frosting.

9. Baste the top of the French toast.

10. Enjoy!
