Airelles Saint-Tropez, Château de la Messardière Opening on July 1st
Airelles Saint-Tropez, ChÃ¢teau de la MessardiÃ¨re, a 19th century palace at the gates of Saint-Tropez, will open its doors for the first time under the luxury brand Airelles on July 1, 2021.
Acquired in May 2019, the property joined Airelles’ hotel collection and has undergone extensive renovations over the past two years, with French architect and decorator Christopher Tollemer overseeing the redesign. The property is the largest hotel in Saint-Tropez, occupying 25 hectares of magnificent land overlooking the French Riviera and the ProvenÃ§al countryside.
This summer, guests can look forward to many initiatives, including a culinary partnership with Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, as well as âair, land and seaâ experiences for adults and families (think: exclusive day trips by helicopter , perfume-making workshops, vineyard sidecar, guided tours and hot-air balloon flights).
Summer partnership with chef Nobu Matsuhisa
From July 1 to October 10, ChÃ¢teau de la MessardiÃ¨re joins forces with chef Nobu Matsuhisa. Matsuhisa Saint-Tropez Restaurant will offer guests Japanese / French fusion cuisine, with an emphasis on fresh seafood. The menu will include a selection of popular Matsuhisa dishes, including yellow tail sashimi with jalapeÃ±o and yuzu soy sauce, black cod with saikyo-yaki miso, and prawn tempura. You will also discover a selection of sakes, as well as an organized cocktail list.
The main draw of the restaurant will be its outdoor terrace, offering a view over the bay of Pampelonne, where guests can enjoy impressive sunsets and dine under the stars.
In addition to the new Matsuhisa Saint-Tropez restaurant, ChÃ¢teau de la MessardiÃ¨re has completely redesigned its culinary offer with both local and international concepts; this includes the arrival of L’Auberge des Maures, one of the most emblematic restaurants in Saint-Tropez, which will offer authentic Provencal cuisine with traditional specialties.
New “Air, Land and Sea” experiences
ChÃ¢teau de la MessardiÃ¨re also presents a selection of luxury experiences and activities for adults and families on the theme of air, land and sea. These include:
Exclusive Helicopter Day Trips – Customers can choose where they want to go in the South of France. It could be a day trip to sister property Chateau d’Estoublon in Provence, a flight over the Gorges du Verdon or the region’s Mas du Mangoustier, or even a day trip to Monaco for shopping.
Hot air balloon ride – Discover the landscapes of Saint-Tropez from the sky during a hot air balloon ride organized by the ChÃ¢teau de la MessardiÃ¨re concierge team. Wake up early with a picnic breakfast in your private transfer, which will take you directly to your departure point (Forcalquier), ready to watch the sunrise over the hills from above.
Perfume creation workshop – Immerse yourself in the world of perfume creation during an interactive perfume creation workshop, organized by the ChÃ¢teau de la MessardiÃ¨re and Valmont. Led by an expert perfumer, guests will learn all about the ingredients used to create different scents, the connection between scent and memory and, finally, select and blend the chosen oils to create your own personalized eau de parfum.
Classic Sidecar Vineyard Tour – Explore the surrounding vineyards of Saint-Tropez on a private vintage motorcycle sidecar tour. Cruise through quaint villages and rolling countryside with an experienced driver, and enjoy a wine tour, followed by wine tasting and a picnic lunch.
Other options include a classic sidecar vineyard tour, a bike tour of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, and a day trip to golf.
Luxury Private Picnic on a Wild Cove – Guests can take advantage of their own private pointy boat for a day of exploring the coast of Saint-Tropez. The captain will take you to hidden coves and secluded beaches, followed by a picnic in a wild cove overlooking the bay.
Activities for children
The children of ChÃ¢teau de la MessardiÃ¨re will also have plenty of new activities to discover in the new Airelles summer camp built to measure. There will be a cinema, treehouse, large space for arts and crafts (including calligraphy, origami, postcard making and a lava lamp creation workshop), modeling clay (including pottery making), water games (such as water polo and water basketball), and sports activities (including table tennis, volleyball, badminton and basketball ).
